★ First Impressions ♚ VISUAL: Ta-da! Magolor is an alien from another dimension with a round brown-skinned egg-shaped body, reflective yellow eyes, cone-shaped ears, no legs or feet (he moves by floating), and hands that aren't physically attached to his body by arms. He wears clothing that cloaks a lot of the other specifics of his anatomy, like his mouth. What you see in that image is what you get most of the time. There's no canon for how big he is, but I'm going to say he's about twenty inches tall not including his ears! For reference, he is a little bigger than a standard Squishable. Clothing-wise he is always wearing something like the setup in that first picture (hood + scarf + belt + cape + gloves + bodysuit), but he does not always wear the same one, and has them in different colors and designs. ♚ DEMEANOUR: Magolor usually, initially comes off effusive and friendly! He's the kind of person who will get in your face, grab your hand, and chatter away about being thrilled to meet you. He gestures often and expansively. He is very "on" much of the time, in other words. In reality, he is a loner with very questionable morals who craves power and attention but has no idea how to get it without manipulating people with a cutesy front—catch him off guard or engage him on a deeper level and he's a much more mature and sarcastic person. ♚ SOUND: He speaks an alien language in a chittery voice that sounds like this! His written dialogue is heavily "foreigner" accented in Japanese: he uses katakana and Western turns of phrase, and drawls his words out. In English (and RP) this mostly comes off as casual slang, forced familiarity, and sounding overall cutesy. ♥ He messes up pronunciations of unfamiliar words/names at times and has slightly "off" pronunciation on the whole, which he doesn't bother to work on because it usually suits him to be seen as Foreign. ♚ RANDOM NOTES: Two things: first of all, he is an adult, but there's little way for anyone unfamiliar with his species to know his maturity level except by guessing it from interaction with him. In human terms, I would say I play him as being in his late 20s. Along those same lines, he is male, but there are no real clues to his gender in his name, appearance, voice, or demeanor. That's not a big deal in canon (where the same is true of almost every character) and I'm not interested in making it a focus in RP when it's not one, so I'm good with people just Somehow Knowing he's a dude—but otoh if you want your character to be confused or ask about it, feel free. ♚ MENTAL INFORMATION: He has no defense against telepathy, so go for it if your character is capable of it, and just let me know so I can adjust my comments to give you the relevant info! Magolor's usual front is very fake, and I don't mind sharing what's going on under it or having that figured out IC. Generally, anyone who can see in there will find that he's more emotionally muted, calculating, sarcastic, and reserved than he lets on. ♚ MAGICAL INFORMATION: He is a fairly powerful sorcerer at this canonpoint (post-Star Allies) and also has General Kirby Character Powers; see his abilities here. He is not a spirit or demon or inherently magical, just an alien wizard. He was once possessed by Dark Matter via the Master Crown, and while that seems to have been expelled from his body and mind, he is also now capable of using magic that he couldn't use before his possession—so there is clearly some influence still lingering in there. He seems to have it fully under his control. ★ Personality Notes ♚ MANIPULATION: Magolor can be a very manipulative person; I have no OOC stake in his bullshit succeeding on any level and am happy to roll with your character seeing right through it. He's not always subtle, lol. ICly, he can also totally handle being seen through and is self-aware of How He Is. If you're wondering if he is attempting to manipulate your character into anything serious, the answer is no, unless we've discussed otherwise. If he's playing a long game with you, it'll be something you and I have talked about! Most of the time he just defaults to being kinda Like That because he is not good at not being that way, even if he doesn't want anything in particular out of it. If you do actually want to play out your character being manipulated by him in the long-term, I'm into that too, just hmu. ♚ MORAL ALIGNMENT: Magolor debuted as a villain, but at this canonpoint he's "reformed." I put reformed in quotation marks not because he's evil or plotting anything—he isn't—but because his level of remorse for his actions and level of investment in the greater good are very low for a character who is now technically one of the good guys. His attempts at making amends are genuine (and treated as such in canon), but since he isn't good at being genuine, they tend to come off tone-deaf and insincere. Still, he isn't a villain anymore, and poses no danger to anyone. He's just kind of still a jerk. That said, as above, if you're interested in RPing something with me that digs more into the villain body horror mode, I'm game for that discussion! ★ OOC ♚ BACKTAGGING: I backtag a lot depending on what's going on in my life! I will begin to lose momentum after about a month, or if we have a more recent thread that is more relevant going on, or if things don't seem to be going anywhere new. ♚ FOURTHWALLING: I'm fine with it. Magolor's whole deal is dimension-hopping, and he is also a character who is used as a meta mouthpiece for the franchise a lot on the official Twitter and so on. I won't spring things into threads like him referring to being from a video game (unless it's a crack meme that calls for that), but if someone else does it to him, I will roll with it and so will he. He will be really invested in how popular a character he is. ♚ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: ICly, he's comfortable with it if he's initiating/controlling it and uncomfortable with it if he's not, as he is with pretty much all social interaction. OOCly, I'm good with whatever! Hug the egg!! See also his abilities post for a note about how kissing works in Kirby (the short version is, it's nbd to Magolor because it's just a method of healing one another in battle). ♚ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: I'm fine with it; he can handle himself at a comfortable level when it comes to taking punishment, fighting back, or fleeing the encounter. Magolor dislikes violence, but if it comes down to it, he can put up a good fight without being a total godmode or anything. (As a player, I hate powergaming more than anything, and if our characters do fight, my focus is on making it a fun thread for everyone and not on winning!) ♚ RELATIONSHIPS: I MEAN . . . I'm gonna be real with you, I'm not the kind of person who's gonna dismiss this out of hand just because he's a floating egg thing. I will, however, assume that everyone else is, unless we chat about it extensively. The truth is that it's going to be harder to get Magolor to accept the idea of honest interpersonal connections and physical or emotional intimacy than it's going to be to get me as a player to agree to some xeno bullshit.
