[His joy and awe at seeing them is such that he literally doesn't process the flaws at first glance. For now, he's only seeing the touching, adorable parts.]
You made these yourself??
[That seems obvious from the customization, as was the case with his own gift. But he still feels surprised enough to ask. He knows that Magolor isn't very practiced with making any kind of food, either.]
[Indeed he's not. In fact he sobers just a little, though he's still smiling, happy at the reaction.]
Maybe you'll understand how I feel...for this, I wanted to try something I'm not good at. I really wanted to make it special by doing something that was hard and brand new for me! Instead of making you something really fancy, but that I was already skilled at. Something like this is something I'd only ever give to someone I really trusted, since it doesn't make me look that impressive. But I tried my very hardest!
...! N-No way! It makes you look super impressive!
[Though he understands the context, and what exactly Magolor means. After all, that kind of trust is the only reason he made those cookies, too. And in a way... he appreciates the lack of intimidation in a gift like this. It doesn't make him feel as outmatched as a fancier gift might. Instead, the only thing he feels overwhelmed with is happiness.
But he is in fact overwhelmed with that, so he moves to hug Magolor in a tight squeeze before he can come up with any more articulate response.]
[This is a very coveted compliment, even if it might only be a projection from Taranza. Because "you're too kind! you're too nice!" is the sentiment he often has dealing with Magolor, when Magolor exceeds the extent of Taranza's imagination. And it is very powerful to imagine doing the same thing to Magolor in turn.]
They look really nice for your level of experience...! I wouldn't even know where to start making them!
[He holds up a Taranza chocolate in illustration.]
[Praise . . . ! That one is extra cute! He titters happily.]
Weeeell, luckily, making molds is one thing I do know how to do! I use that kind of thing often enough in making things like jewelry. So I was able to carve out the little molds for the chocolate, and that was the easiest part! Making the chocolates was a lot harder . . .
Hehehe, I'm a little relieved. As far as I'm concerned, I've already been outdone by you! I didn't need to be outdone even more! I'm still excited for these. Thank yooooou!
[Opening them up! Hell yes! Chocolates are romantic!]
You're welcome~ Even if I didn't make them, they still taste good!
[He doesn't care about whether he objectively won. All he cares about is that Magolor thinks he won, so he is satisfied with this result.
The chocolates are the ones from Juri's shop, shaped cutely but generically, unlike Magolor's chocolates. They come in assorted flavors: dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate, with some caramels and nuts. There is probably a label pointing out which is which.]
Magolor's chocolate does taste pretty good, thankfully. It's not professional level or anything in terms of the flavor composition (though the Taranza shape is solid milk chocolate anyway) or texture but it's good! It's very legit chocolate!]
[They are truly aliens of the modern era. Magolor gets some pictures of both, though he did also already take some of the chocolates when he finished them.]
Hehehe, it's just practice! You should take lots of selfies and send them to me every day until you're an expert!
Oh, I just wanted the pictures! But I'd do that too. I could be gentle! That might be fun . . . I'd get to look at you and give advice! I enjoy both of those things very much.

You're too kind to me! I am proud of them, though. You know how it is with me and the kitchen.

...I should probably save these for later.
[But he's not sure if Magolor wants him to try at least one right now, and so he looks very obviously like he is seeking Magolor's opinion.]

[Since he is pretty sure one of these is Also Chocolates.]

I didn't make these ones though.
[He just spoils it to set expectations in advance, handing over the box of chocolates.]

[He hums and haws and carefully selects a dark chocolate caramel pecan one. This one! You shall die first]

[He picks up the Taranza one he held up earlier. LIKE THIS??]

[They are not the keenest. He might have missed nuance!!]

[He commits to his delicious Taranza victim. That's better than trying a Magolor and finding that one isn't delicious.]

Taranza is perfectly happy with these Magolor level chocolates.]
—Ah, they're good!

[HE IS GOING FOR A COOKIE NOW!]
no subject
[He's like, mostly sure that's hyperbole, but it's still a little concerning.]
But it's not relevant anyway. The love definitely came through...!
[The cookies are a little hard and dry, even with the frosting, but they too are perfectly edible.]

It's good~! I should take a picture before I eat them all, though . . . you worked hard on them! And I could destroy them within a day!
no subject
[Though this reminds him he should also take a picture of Magolor's chocolates, and he digs out his phone.]

[He is dubious, but also interested in the proposal in theory. As long as he gets actual crit!!
...is what he thinks, but honestly it would work perfectly well even if he only got praise. He just needs more practice.]
