I train them to battle, personally! But they can be trained to help with gardening, construction, transportation, or merely companionship... anything, really. It is worth noting that there is no magic in my world other than what is possible through the talents of Pokemon! But—what Pokemon are capable of matches nearly any kind of magic I have heard about so far!
Duh! Obviously, after an intro like that! Anyone would be curious, right? Hey, instead of sitting around here doing that all by our lonesomes, let's make that your quest! Put on a talent show somewhere public showing off whatever random things your Pokemon can do that're so impressive! I'll sit in the front row~!

People here do tend to be very excited about demonstrations of Pokemon! Their abilities can be a little destructive, so a bit outside of the graveyard, perhaps... Oh, but I will have to go fetch a jar, first. They have such things available in the diner.
